“For I was hungry and you gave me something to eat, I was thirsty and you gave me something to drink, I was a stranger and you invited me in, I needed clothes and you clothed me, I was sick and you looked after me, I was in prison and you came to visit me.”

Practical Evangelism

Mankind is made of body, mind, and spirit, and has various needs. Christ said he came to give us life, and life more abundantly. Therefore, it is fair to say that life on earth is meant to be enjoyed and is meant to be fulfilling … however, we live in a fallen world. As a result, life for millions of people is full of pain and misery.

In the gospels, not only did Jesus teach about sin, prayer, faith, and salvation, He also dealt with the everyday issues of life and death, illness, poverty, enemies, taxes, fear, attitudes, actions and more.

In its efforts to meet the spiritual, physical, emotional, and other needs of people, EEC Denver has formed the Holistic Ministry. The goal of this ministry is to demolish barriers and build bridges enabling individuals and families to lead successful lives within the larger Denver/Aurora community.

This ministry seeks to provide assistance for families in times of crisis by meeting basic necessities such as food, shelter and medical assistance, by providing referrals to various organizations that provide counseling services, English as a Second Language classes, vocational training, and more, thereby giving people a spring board from which to reach for their dreams.

The Holistic ministry is part of EEC Denver’s way of answering the prayer, “Your kingdom come, Your will be done on earth as it is in heaven.”
